General information

Gasoline is a complex mixture of over 100 different, mostly light hydrocarbons, whose boiling range is between that of gaseous hydrocarbons and petroleum/kerosene. It is mainly obtained by refining and processing petroleum.

There are different types of gasoline, which differ in the type of composition of hydrocarbons.

The term petrol is a collective term. He describes:

• Naphtha (untreated naphtha)
• Test and special fuel
• Gasoline
• Aviation fuel

Both test and special fuels are offered as normal and dearomatized products. In contrast to normal gasoline, dearomatized gasoline has a lower odour.

Areas of application

White spirit, also known as special boiling point spirit or white spirit, is a special type of gasoline that is used as a diluent and solvent.

Special fuels are mixtures of paraffinic and naphthenic hydrocarbons with a very low aromatic content. Thanks to suitable raw materials and hydrogenation processes, these products have a mild odour. The dissolving properties can be specifically adjusted by varying the naphthenic content.

Test and special spirits are used, for example, as solvents in printing inks and in quick-drying adhesives, and as thinners in the paint and coatings industry.
